Severence meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre!

Comedy horror is usually borrowing from the classics, and although this wasnt too obvious in this case, some elements of classic horror did emerge in this great com-horror. At first I thought i'd walked into the wrong film, as the starting few scenes are more like something out of a gangster film - but this is just opening the narrative that sets the scene. As a movie its a bit random, but this is accompanied by some good acting from somewhat underrated British actors. Filled with what British horror directors seem to love - gore - this isn't for the faint stomached, however if you could stomach severence, then you shouldn't be to bad. What impressed me most about this film is that although at no point was it jumpy or terrifying, there was a lot of unnervingness to it, especially in the later, more action filled scenes (but i wont give anything away). I can see why some people might slaughter this film (excuse the relative pun) because narratively its a bit random in terms of a horror film. But strangely it worked for me. If your not compelled to see it on the big screen, at least do it duty by renting it on release.
