Developers: RETRO STUDIOS
Genres: Wii
Released: October 26, 2007
Also available on:

The Galactic Federation's Base Sector Zero is under attack by Space Pirates. Samus must boot up the generator to restore the defense systems. But at the end of her path, someone awful is waiting for her.

The war initiated by Dark Samus and the Space Pirates rages across many planets as they attempt to corrupt each with Phazon seeds. Players use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to explore alien landscapes, hunt for weapons and information, and destroy the seeds. Saving the planets from Corruption isn't enough, though. Eventually, players must take down Samus' mortal enemy, Dark Samus.

Besides using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers to pull off amazing feats like aiming and blasting in midair or at a full run, players also will have an array of different weapons at their disposal. In true Metroid fashion, these will become powered up as the game progresses. Not only that, but the controller will be used for a number of other game elements beyond the traditional firstperson shooter standards.

metroid prime 3: corruption

This game looks ok, it starts a little like halo and i must say for me thats as good as it got. the graphics are not on a par with halo 1 they game play is poor, with the controls not responding as you would expect or like. It also takes to long to get stuck into the action. Ididn't like it because i feel more can be done with the wii, and the developers should have made it more playable before releasing.

Overall, very good game

James Chapman from Essex, UK, 29th October, 2007

I wasn't sure what to expect from this game, as:- 1. I haven't played any other first person shooters on the wii yet - so i dont know how good they are to control etc. 2. I haven't played any of the other Metroid Prime games. However, I think it is a wicked game thats great fun. Controls take a bit of getting used to but after a while they fit really well. The gameplay is excellent, haven't found any bugs or any aspects which need a negative comment. Not sure how long it is as I'm still playing my way through it but according to my save, im about 10% of the way through after about 3 hours or so - been playing at a relaxed pace. I recommend this game, even if you haven't played any of the other Metroid Prime games, as it easy to pick up, but still good fun.

Metroid Prime 3

Bombatom from from Cheltenham, 3rd August, 2008

I can't understand how this has gained so many great reviews. Controls are difficult to use and don't really use the wii to it's full advantage, we thought it was dull, and are sending it back after a few days.... We've got hours of gameplay out of Resident Evil and really enjoyed it....Go for that instead....

One of the best Wii games

DA200 from , 13th July, 2008

First of all Metroid Prime series is always been for serious gamers, gamers who like simple or games that take a day to complete will hate this. In the past, 1st person shooters on the wii have not been great (eg Red Steel) but the developers have got the controls spot on. At one stage you have to use your grappling hook to rip off enemies shield and certain door covers by locking on to a object, moving the wii nunchunk forward then moving it back and your actions are seen on screen like you were they doing it. Also some locks require to move the wii remote back turn it clockwise/anti clockwise then move the wii remote. This sort of use of the wii controls adds to the game. Its a much better use of the controls then just shaking the remote. To say the graphics are no better then halo 1or 2 is a joke as they improve on the 2nd game. You will never get graphics like gears of war or MGS4 on the wii but for the wii MP:3 graphics are really good. The soundtrack to the game is superb (again). One of the main complaints of the 1st and 2nd game was the massive world and people got lost, this time you have several worlds to fly, by doing this it breaks up the levels nicely and back tracking is heavily cut down) Rent it first to see if you like it then its worth buying if you do. I wish developers would make more serious games like this then crappy 'party' games and shovelware crap

OUTSTANDING!!!

PvtClapham from from Margate, Kent, 3rd July, 2008

I've played a fair few games on many consoles but I've got to say this is not only the BEST game I've played on the wii but one of the best I've played ever! graphics are amazing considering it's on the wii, gameplay really drags you in, controls are brilliant. It's achieved just the right balance of puzzle solving and action to prevent it being mind numbing shooting or brain bashing. Overall you just have to rent this and see for yourself, BEST SHOOTER EVER!!!!

Brilliant

ihaveknowledge from from London, 19th June, 2008

I haven't played any Metriod game since it went from the platform style to first person. I think this is a brilliant transition and still holds true to the origins of the game. There is a lot to this game and it will satisfy all types of games. If you want just to complete the game you can. But you can also try to completely complete the game. You do this by finding all the pickups and scanning all the enemies. The game is fun to play and once mastered the controls are quite good. I've been playing it for 2 hours and I've completed a whopping 8% of the whole game, this includes pickups and secrets. If you liked the other metriod games this is a must have. If you haven't played them before give this game a try, it's definately worth if.
