Ninja Gaiden Black is superior.

A Customer from N.I., 28th February, 2008

Having played Black and Sigma, I have decided I prefer Ninja Gaiden Black. Sigma ramps up the difficulty in a ham-handed manner; I frequently died in situations I previously survived by performing the exact same action. It felt like my success was determined by a hidden dice roll that I had no control over. This detracted considerably from Ninja Gaiden's infamous sense of challenge. Having said that: the graphical update is tasteful and does not subjugate the core gameplay, Ninja Gaiden games are exceptional as a rule, and the use of the sixaxis is a nice touch; so I won't rate it too harshly.

nothing too exciting

thundercatsho from , 23rd February, 2008

the game looked well but for me it was not very gripping. you pretty much go through the levels doing the same thing fighting many foes in the same manor as before so it gets a little boring. it is worth a rental but don't expect too much from the game. have fun!

Brilliant!!!!!

A Customer from Devon, England, 9th July, 2007

This is what I have been missing on the PS3. Absolute brilliant game fantastic graphics. Warning when you play this game you wont be able to put it down. Its got that brilliant 'just one more go' and has a difficulty level set at the right level. YOU MUST PLAY THIS GAME.

Excellent game, graphics, storyline and gameplay are all there. It was just too damn hard even on easy. Definetely recommended however be prepared to have to retry alot to get past certain bits.

Fun, Challenging and Relentless...

Lucky7 from from London, 5th August, 2008

I loved this game and found it hard to put down through out my first playthrough. This game pushes you to your limits as a gamer. Yeah it's tough to beat even at normal level, but if you're up for the challenge it's so much fun and rewarding when you do. The graphics are well done. The animation framerate makes the slickness of Ryu’s (the main protagonist) attack moves and combos flawless... the game play and puzzles are intriguing and the AI in the game is superb, which makes the villains and bosses relentless and tricky to beat. Unlike other games, which have AI controlled opponents who just line up for you to slash and kill easily, this game packs villains of different variations and skill sets, each making them hard to kill, and in a good way, button mashing will only take you so far, to beat this game takes dexterity, tenacity, patience and concentration. The rewards for defeating challenges and the ratings at the end of each level make you want to come back for more and more. And the additional mission challenge pushes you further. The only major issue I had with this game was the camera angle's and the fact you had to sometimes fidget with it sometimes in the middle of a battle, this leads to some of the most frustrating moments of the game. However I never had such fun and agony in a game at the same time... probably not best suited to a casual gamer but if you're up for a challenge go on give it your best shot ..ninja!.

Excellent game par...

digweed from from Poole, 20th June, 2008

What a great game, very frustrating at times but generally a good game. The only let down by this game is the camera angles at times and the respawning of enemies once you load a level and come back and forth. The game is quite exciting and believe me you will restart many times. I am going to buy this title as I think it matches Ninja Gaiden 2 in gameplay almost exactly with a fw controls being tweaked in 2. Generally an excellent game

Shame

A Customer from London, 27th May, 2008

Usually i return rubish titles back next day, this time i didn't. This game is along those lines but for some reasn i kept playing it. Stress release i guess more then any thing. The game it self has a poor boring story line which i never paied attention to, just got on with it. There was no enjoyment out of this game, not grippingat all. You pretty much go through the levels doing the same thing fighting many foes in the same manor as before so it gets a little boring. it is worth a rental but don't expect too much from the game o rstory. I did like the controls and fighting mode.
