propaganda...
A Customer from Bishop's Stortford, England, 6th May, 2007
Enough said...the sole purpose of this film is to present distorted facts about Afghan war, spread malicious propaganda and mislead unsuspecting audience...there's nothing in the story line which is exciting. Watch Film Four's A Road to Guantanamo if you really want to know what's going on in Afghanistan through the eyes of four British held captive during the war and transported to Cuba. This movie lacks the punch and is politically incorrect at every step, protraying Northern Alliance as peaceful lot, going around without guns and calling them Mujahideen whereas they're as brutal as the rest of the lot. The makers obviously do not remember the inhuman barbaric killings done by Northern Alliance in Mazar e Shareef when they slaughtered hundreds of innocent defenceless trapped men women and children. Mujahideen was the term used by west for Taliban during Russian invasion of Afhganistan, sadly the same lot were branded terrorists once the western objective of kicking russians out was met. Why doesn't Bollywood stick to what they do best, copying Hollywood and Koren movies and present them marinated with tandoori masaala?

I loved this movie. Its definitely worth watching. The direction is wonderful, the cast - all of them portray their charactrs quite well. Ofcourse its not a typical bollywood blockbuster, but these days there is nothing like a typical bollywood blockbuster.

A different movie
Jaha from Manchester,uk, 27th February, 2007
The director, besides the story of Afghanistan,Taliban and Northern Alliance wants to show the Indian muslim compared with the muslim of Subcontinent. Also he shows the perception of pakistani people about the Indian muslim. Those who are aware of politics of Afghanistan and Pakistan in Afghanistan would enjoy the movie. Viewer will be aware of the situation of Afghan people.Their miseries in the current situation specially the ladies class. It is a different type of movie from Bollywood. Viewers expecting typical bollywood movie should not dare to go for it!!!!

I think this was a really good Indian film as it is usually very predictable. This wasn't . It was a really human story that crossed the barriers of what is happening in Afghanistan. We need to have more stories like this showing how being good and kind and honourable is a worldwide asset. John Abraham was superb. I now whant to see more of this star.

John Abrahams is good to watch but this film was a bit slow in places. Good topic and well thought out.
