Remember the good old days?

There was a time when video games where simple, the music was plinky plonky, the graphics where basic? But we didn't care, we where kids! Back in the day Nintendo released Super Mario Cart to a great reception. Kids the world over couldn't help but love driving as Mario or one of his pals. Since then a lot of similar games have tried to replicate its success, and this falls in to that category! The games like an Alfa Romeo car. It looks stunning, but when you look under the bonnet you find problems. The tracks are confusing and there are times when you seem to 'crash' into an opponent when you're not even close! Kids who like the film will love it! Us adults (I'm now 26) should probably leave well alone! 2/5

Good fun

I would have given this game a 4 if I were a little younger! It is very enjoyable and a perfect game for fans of the film. For the more mature gamer it is a little easy. A story mode (like on the other consoles) would have been nice as the races seem a little random and unstructured. Apart from that a great PSP game with good visuals, sound and a decent play

Just plain fun

Rarely do you see a licensed game based on a film or a cartoon that is worth playing, but Locomotive Games and parent company THQ finally capture key movie elements and put them into a PSP title that is sure to not make this just another racing title on the portable system. Cars features beautifully rendered replicas of characters from the movie and utilizes real voiceovers from actors such as Larry the Cable Guy, George Carlin, Michael Keaton, and Owen Wilson. The game also features a soundtrack, which contains songs that were not in the movie version from well-known artists Los Lobos, Natural Born Hippies, Lynryd Skynryd, and a handful of others. Gameplay in Cars is strictly limited to racing with game modes such as Story, Grand Prix, Time Trial, Postcard Rally, and multiplayer modes. Extra cars, tracks, and paint jobs can be unlocked by successfully completing certain game modes that are sure to keep you gaming for hours.

This game is a truly marvellous racing game, you unlock race after race, however you will soon get bored as this game is mainly for children under the age of five! However, dont let this put you of, this has been beautifully crafted to fit onto the small umd discs of psp. You can race different characters, different tracks and challenges. Go through the different stages and levels, unlocking different things along the way. Different characters are availible such as Lightening McQueen, Sally, Doc Hudson and Mater. With berilliant graphics as well this is a must-get.
