Do you remember how good they were?

I’ve been waiting for this to be released on DVD since forever and here it is at last and… I think it’s brilliant! This concert is a perfect example of why The Police where the biggest and best band of the early eighties. They’ve done a brilliant job re-mastering this footage, compared with the VHS version the video quality is excellent and the new DTS soundtrack is really quite remarkable especially considering this was filmed in 1983. There isn’t a lot by way of special features; however there are four (live) tracks that didn’t appear on the original video and interviews with all three members. Definitely recommended.

Godley and Creme....MMMMMmmmmmmmm

The Polce have all the songs , all the looks, all the hype , all the crowd etc what they didnt have are two guys who know how to make a good live music video, many stupid shots of silly girls in the crowd spoils the magic of a great live performance. If you ignore this then the music from Sting Copeland Sumners is great I know your going to say ..Oh yes Godley and Creme made the great video CRY .. well there treament of a great bands live performance made me CRY. The Music , perfomance and sound quality 5 stars The production 1 star

Some of these songs go on a bit. When they sing their hits they are good. But some of the show is long drawn out.

Arresting

This 83 concert is one of two things. Musically excellent, visually suspect. The early 80s graphics are naff, and the suit Sting is wearing is sadder than a Christmas movie about orphans. The infuriating thing about The Police visually is however great their music is, whenever I see Sting's smug face I just want to hit it.
