Bobby Boucher (Adam Sandler), the much-abused waterboy of a successful college football team, gets fired but finds his true calling as a player for the neighboring down-and-out team. Unfortunately, his Momma doesn't approve of football (or as she calls it, foosball) and Bobby has to keep his gridiron success a secret. One of Sandler's biggest hits, featuring a group of bizarre Cajun characters and a sweetly goofy plot.

Radio Times

Incredibly dumb but equally infectious, this comedy reunites Wedding Singer director Frank Coraci with his star Adam Sandler, who plays a lowly, put-upon dispenser of water to sweaty college footballers. One day, their abuse (this time about his beloved Cajun mum, Kathy Bates) is just too much and he strikes back by charging one of the players, so impressing the coach that he ends up on the team. If you like Dumb and Dumber (and some people do), you'll love this equally inane stuff. It features great performances from Bates and The Fonz himself, Henry Winkler (as the bewildered coach), and Sandler puts his modest comedic talent to good use.

Why this role?

Davester from , 10th May, 2008

A classic Sandler film.... he seems to like his role of being underestimated, underprivileged or something along those lines, and loves sports. A story thats been repeated over and over, even by Sandler (Happy Gilmore, Waterboy, Longest Yard). Funny moments but ultimately predictible within the first half hour.
