With its pretty songs and good characters, THUMBELINA will delight children. The film--which uses more computer graphics than previous Don Bluth films--tells the fable of the Hans Christian Andersen heroine Thumbelina (Jodi Benson), a tiny girl born to a childless woman from a flower. Longing to find someone her size, she falls in love with a fairy prince, Cornelius (Gary Imhoff), only to be kidnapped by a band of show business toads and their singing Ma (Charo). That's just the beginning of Thumbelina's adventures and her quest to be reunited with her prince--and it's an adventure filled with danger and excitement.

Thumbelina

The graphics of this movie are not 'disney' quality. However, the film is fun and my 3 and 6 year old seemed to enjoy it. The music in it is certainly disney quality and there are one or two song/dance sequences that are quite captivating.
I would recommend this one, but don't expect the stunning visuals of disney.

Doesn't have to be Disney to be good

A Customer from London, 8th July, 2008

My kids loved this film. The songs were as memorable as any Disney films. Good for rainy days when the kids have to stay in.

More song than film

A Customer from Hants, England, 20th March, 2006

This should have been a musical, not a story, it is a kind of old children cartoon and it does not really send a message to the children watching. (like in Disneys films) My 4 year old boy still watched it, but certainly only an afternoon viewing. Okay for renting.
