The best yet, but watch out for episide 13

First, let me join the chorus of praise for the superlative conclusion of this great series. There is, however, an issue with the concluding episode. Some of you may already know this, but the series actually ended with a feature-length episode. When it was shown in the UK, Channel 5 were unable to deal with this concept so they asked for it to be re-edited into 2 parts, causing some scenes to be shown out of order. Sony to their credit have put both versions on the final disk, but the original US episode is hidden in the 'special features' menu while the Channel 5 abortion is presented as the 'real' episode.

i have never waited for a new series like the shield series 7 ever. i combed the tv papers, looked on sky every day for months until finally..... it took my breath away. what a show i am just sad it has ended. the best thing to come out of the states in years

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC (4)!

I watched all seven series on TV, and then missed the last episode. D'oh! So I got this DVD to see how it all finished. As with all good TV programmes, it ran for a series or two more than it needed to, but despite this the quality of writing, acting and production remained consistently high. Far higher than the 'Sopranos' for example. MUST SEE TV!

A disappointing end to a great series.

Produced to the same high standards as the rest of the series.It ended with some great shots of Vic Mackey faced with an uncertain future,but he had failed to protect his team member Ronnie Gardocki despite claiming throughout the series that the team stood together.In addition I did not find the sympathetic portrayal of Shane as a human being very convincing . Vic was never a 'good' hero but he started with loyalties to his team and his family whereas Shane was an evil character and a liability to the team . This is my take on the final series but there will be other views. I thought some momentum was lost when Glenn Close left the cast to play Patty in 'Damages'. All the characters in the Barn were portayed superbly.Perhaps the series went on too long - it struggled to grip me at the end.

The Shield from Series 1 to series 7 is the best cop show ever written. Brilliant writing. Brilliant acting. The series has everything. I have been a Shield junkie since day one...... I have to say I was a little disappointed with the end but I wont let this spoil the memories. Awesome. I am just gutted there isn't any more !
