Pool Party - Hated it

xXxCatherinexXx from from Basingstoke, 21st August, 2008

We eagerly awaited the arrival of Pool Party..... ( my 18 yo son wanted this one - but I was keen to try it too ). The reason we rented this game was because we LOVED playing pool on Wii Play, so we thought a game just purely based on Pool would be brilliant, expecting even better game-play, but this wasn't to be! The controls are NON intuitive..... I lost count of the amount of 'buckets' I heard from my eldest son as he tried without success to master the controls. A uni student and avid game lover... even HE said he'd never known a game so hard to control and play. FINALLY we realised what we needed to do to actually hit the ball, after I came along and said I'd give it a go. But believe me it was soooo long winded that after 3 hits you were willing the game to be OVER! So in all..... we played this for about 30 mins and popped it back in the envelope swiftly! Not recommended.

Very slow poorly written game play. Game play has no continuity you play a game it asks you to save then its back to the main menu where you then have to go through choosing a game again and your different settings. It's the sort of game you can play for 20 minutes on a Sunday afternoon when there is nothing on the TV and you feel like slothing. I wouldn't recommend this game it is very dull with even more annoying music.

Pool Party

Fitwitch from from Waltham Cross, 26th September, 2008

The games play is slow, controls are not easy to master, the fact that the screens spend most of their time loading just makes the games seam even slower. The locations try to create atmosphere, but fall far short. The sound effects, namely the bell when another player comes to the table gets annoying very quickly. Wont be rushing to the shops to buy this one.

I found this a very poor title, the usual intuitive control system and interface of the becomes really clunky and difficult to get your head around and use to. To put it in a nut shell, if you want to play pool or snooker go to a pool hall.
